Partner & Co-Founder
Elie is CEO at Exigent and brings over 25 years of investment experience to the firm. As CEO, he is responsible for leading the firm’s investment activities across asset classes and geographies, as well as managing strategic relationships with Exigent’s partners and investors.
Starting in 2009, Elie managed credit arbitrage and global-macro strategies for the firm, including TALF 1.0, as well as making investments in financial companies including an early-stage investment in Cross River Bank. In 2015, Elie pivoted the firm to make concentrated investments in the technology sector. In 2021, he led the firm’s seed investment in HighPost Capital, a PE firm founded by the Bezos and Moross families. Elie began his career in 1995 when he earned his Series 7 and 63 securities licenses at the age of 18. In 1999, Elie joined JPMorgan, where he worked in primary areas of finance, including the capital markets division. He later worked in the real estate division of a family-office based in New York.
Elie, who was born and raised in New York, serves on the Board of Governors, Executive Committee and Investment Committee at Shalem College in Jerusalem, an elite college that prepares the next generation of Israel’s political, economic, cultural, and intellectual leaders. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Friedberg Economic Institute, an institution with a mission to promote the principles of free-markets and economic freedom in Israel. Elie and his wife are active supporters of Merkaz Panim, an organization that provides mental and physical support to families facing fertility challenges. Elie is an auto-didact in history, philosophy, and economics.
Partner & Co-Founder
Eric is COO at Exigent and brings over 25 years of operational experience to the firm. He is responsible for leading the critical activities that support the firm’s diverse investments, including legal, compliance and investor relations. In his role, Eric manages relationships with Exigent’s third-party service providers and strategic partners.
Starting in 2009, Eric built up the firm’s operational capabilities and supported the investment team. He aligned the firm with best-in-class service providers and managed relationships with its investors. In 2015, he structured the expansion of the firm’s activities to include investments in the technology sector and in Israel.
Eric began his career in 1994 as an attorney at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, LLP, a leading international firm. He later became in-house counsel for a large international technology company and co-founded an outsourced legal services firm that counted large multi-national companies as clients.
Eric was born and raised in New York and attended Yeshiva University where he received National Academic All-American honors as a standout student-athlete. In 2017, Eric won a Gold Medal in basketball representing Israel at the Maccabiah Games.
Ron is a Partner at Exigent and brings over 25 years of strategic planning and execution experience at the highest levels of government to the firm. He is responsible for expanding Exigent’s global base of strategic partners and investors, while bringing unique value-add to the firm’s investments.
From 2013 to 2021, Ron served as Israel’s ambassador to the United States. He is regarded as one of the most consequential ambassadors to ever fill that role, as well as one of the most creative and influential ambassadors from any country during his tenure in Washington.
One of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s closest advisers, Ron was a driving force behind many of the era’s most important diplomatic developments, working in close partnership with U.S. counterparts on securing long-term military assistance and missile defense funding for Israel, implementing the maximum pressure campaign against Iran, moving the American embassy to Jerusalem, attaining U.S. recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights and achieving the breakthrough Abraham Accords (for which he was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize).
Ron is widely recognized as one of the world’s foremost authorities on the bilateral relationship between Washington and Jerusalem, and is a leading advocate of the central role Israel can play in securing the vital interests of the democratic West in the 21st century.
Ron is a non-resident distinguished fellow at JINSA, a Washington based think tank, and co-hosts the biweekly podcast Diplomatically Incorrect.
From 2009 to 2013, Ron served as Senior Advisor to Prime Minister Netanyahu. From 2005-2008, he served as Israel’s Minister of Economic Affairs in the United States.
A former columnist for The Jerusalem Post, in 2004 Ron co-authored, with Natan Sharansky, the best-selling book The Case for Democracy: The Power of Freedom to Overcome Tyranny and Terror.
Ron was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida and earned a degree in Finance and Management from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University. He was the quarterback of Israel's national football team and is a member of the AFI Hall of Fame.
Sim is a Partner at Exigent and brings over 25 years of business and investment experience to the firm. Sim helps execute on Exigent's vision and mission and is responsible for the firm's special situation investments, with a focus on Israel as an asset class.
Sim joined Exigent in 2015 and led the expansion of its investment activities to include healthcare, energy and real estate. He notably led Exigent’s investment in and restructuring of Insightec, a global leader in non-invasive brain surgery that thereafter won the prestigious Prix Galien Award in 2017 for Best Medical Technology. Previously, as a Managing Director of York Capital Management Israel, Sim helped to deploy over $1bn into the Israeli distressed debt and private equity markets after the credit crisis. He played a pivotal role in some of the country’s largest restructuring’s including IDB, Elbit Imaging, Africa Israel and Zim Shipping. He was also an active investor across multiple sectors in North America and Europe.
Sim was born in Canada and raised in the United States.
Head of Investment Team
Michelle is Head of the Investment Team at Exigent and brings over 25 years of investment experience to the firm. She is responsible for leading the due diligence and asset monitoring functions that support the firm’s diverse investments. In addition to managing the investment team, Michelle also manages the firm's strategic relationships with investment counterparties and institutional investors.
Michelle began her career in 1995 as a CPA at Deloitte. In 1997 she pivoted to capital markets after joining Barclays Capital in Foreign Exchange. In 2000 Michelle immigrated to Israel and took a position at Bank Leumi, one of Israel’s largest banks. For more than 18 years, Michelle was instrumental in the establishment and growth of capital markets activities for the bank. In 2002 she commenced the build out of the first actively traded FX forwards business and in 2005 she developed the Shekel denominated interest rate derivatives business of Leumi, driving adoption across the institutional market. In 2007, as the bond market in Israel grew with multi-currency issuances, Michelle developed and managed the bank's trading business in Cross Currency Interest Rate Derivatives & Interest Rate Options. From 2011 to 2016 she developed and managed the creation and expansion of the bank’s cross-asset trading business to include equity derivatives, commodity derivatives, credit derivatives and structured products. In 2016 Michelle was promoted to Head of Global Markets Investing, where she was responsible for the bank’s $10 billion portfolio in FX, government bonds, MBS, ABS, Repo, global equities, high yield bonds and loans, and built out a multi-asset alternatives portfolio that included investment in best-of-breed hedge funds.
Michelle was born and raised in Texas, where she was recognized as a standout student-athlete in high school, as well as a young scholar attending the Texas Academy of Math & Science at the University of North Texas for early college admission. She went on to earn a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas and an MBA in Finance & Strategy from Southern Methodist University. She has been a guest lecturer at the Interdisciplinary Center/Reichman University and is a graduate of the Director's Course at Tel Aviv University.
Global Client Relationships
Kory is Head of Investor Relations at Exigent and brings over 30 years of multi-disciplinary experience to the firm. He is responsible for leading the communication strategy that support the firm’s diverse investments. In his role, Kory interacts with the firm’s investors and investment counterparties.
Kory began his career in 1989 at Edmund Safra's Republic National Bank of NY, where he was responsible for developing tailored investment strategies for high-net worth individuals and families. In 1998, he moved to Israel and joined the top-ranked equity research team at Goldman Sachs, where he covered the emerging technology sector. Kory has also held positions in a multi-national technology company as Vice President of Business Development and Operations and Chief of Staff of the CEO of an international investment company with activities in real estate, financial services, and resource infrastructure. Most recently, Kory worked at a multi-billion-dollar family-office in Tel Aviv, where he managed global investment portfolios covering traded securities and alternative investments.
Kory was born and raised in New Jersey and earned a degree from Yeshiva University. He and his wife founded ATARA, an organization devoted to ensuring the successful integration into society of at-risk young women who have grown up in the foster-care system.
Alternative & Direct Investments
Nili is a Director at Exigent and brings over 20 years of buy-side investment management experience to the firm. She is responsible for underwriting and managing Exigent's alternative and direct investments.
Nili began her career in 2000 as a financial analyst at an Israel-based technology company. In 2001, she moved to New York to join a multi-strategy hedge fund where she was responsible for research and asset-monitoring. In 2006, she joined Lehman Brothers as a senior associate in their structured investment division, where she managed over $1bn of CLOs and structured credit investments. Following the credit crisis, Nili was retained as part of a small team to oversee the bank's balance sheet, where she was directly responsible for unwinding over 150 complex CLO and international derivatives transactions. In 2014, she was promoted to Senior Vice President and oversaw the unwind of an additional $3bn in complex illiquid investments.
Nili was born and raised in Israel and earned a degree from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York.
Eric is a Director at Exigent and brings over 25 years of financial management and reporting to the firm. He is responsible for accounting and reporting of Exigent’s investments, and in that role manages relationships with third-party service providers and supports investor relations.
Eric began his career in 1995 as an accountant at Deloitte. In 1999, he became a senior financial consultant at MetLife, where he gained experience in a number of departments. In 2003, he joined Deutsche Bank as an Associate Vice President where he worked on financial forecasting for the bank’s infrastructure technology business. Between 2005-2014 Eric held a variety of senior positions, including Chief Financial Officer, at a number of boutique investment firms and family-offices focused in the real estate sector. In those positions he was responsible for annual reporting, budgeting and forecasting, treasury and balance sheet management and corporate strategy. In 2014, Eric became Deputy CFO of ION Asset Management, a large multi-strategy hedge-fund in Israel, where he led reporting, audit, regulatory and tax matters.
Eric was born and raised in Miami Beach, Florida and earned a degree from Yeshiva University in Accounting and Art.
Platform Operations Security
Elisha is a Director at Exigent and brings over 20 years of technology management experience to the firm. He is responsible for technology stack solutions that support the firm’s investment activities, as well as data integrity and cybersecurity.
Elisha began his career as a content creator and technology solutions provider for a leading center of Jewish education. In 2013, he joined a leading research institute to lead website development, data conversion, and content translation under the auspices of an innovative digitization project. He has also worked at a technology solutions provider where he operated in multiple areas of technical support and customization including front-end programming and design, database optimization, and network troubleshooting and maintenance. In 2017, he became a full-stack web developer for a number of local not-for-profits.
Elisha was born and raised in California and earned a degree in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Berkely and a Masters in Slavic Literatures and Languages from Stanford University.
& Executive Assistant
Dana is the Office Manager at Exigent and brings over 25 years of experience to the firm. In addition to managing the office she provides administrative and technical support to the firm’s senior executives.
Dana began her career in 1998 working at a boutique pharmacy in the UK. In 2001, she joined a leading retailer with over 700 stores where she was responsible for supporting a variety of front and back-office functions including in technology and finance. In 2004, she joined The General Pharmaceutical Council where she led efforts in quality assurance, staff recruitment and training, publishing trade materials, curating events, and supporting primary business functions. In 2015, Dana joined a leading technology solutions provider in Israel, where she supported all major business functions including accounting and customer support.
Dana was born and raised in the UK and earned a degree in Sociology and Psychology from the City University of London and a Professional Diploma in Management from the Open University.
Mendel is a Research Analyst at Exigent. He is responsible for sector research, as well as quantitative analytics and risk-assessment modeling across our investment portfolio.
Mendel, who was born in the United States and raised in Israel, graduated at the top of his class from the Jerusalem Institute of Technology with a degree in Business Administration. He recently completed the CFA Level I.
